Reconstitution Dissolved in sterile water, it is recommended to add 0.1% HSA or BSA for long-term preservation. STORAGE Stability and Storage 12 months from date of receipt at -20°C to -70°C. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for almost 6 months (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage. BACKGROUND Subunit beta of interleukin 12 (IL12B) is a subunit of human interleukin 12. Cytokine that can act as a growth factor for activated T and NK cells, enhance the lytic activity of NK/lymphokine-activated killer cells, and stimulate the production of IFN-gamma by resting PBMC. Interleukin 12 is a disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of the 40 kD cytokine receptor-like subunit encoded by this gene, and a 35 kD subunit encoded by IL12A. IL12B/IL-12B is expressed by activated macrophages that serve as an essential inducer of Th1 cells development. This cytokine is important for sustaining a sufficient number of memory/effector Th1 cells to mediate long-term protection to an intracellular pathogen. IL12B Associates with IL23A to form the IL-23 interleukin, a heterodimeric cytokine which functions in innate and adaptive immunity. Data SDS-PAGE Bioactivity Active Recombinant Mouse IL-12 beta Protein was determined by SDS-PAGE with Coomassie Blue.
