Product Name Name:Manganese(IV) oxide nanoparticles Product Overview Manganese(IV) oxide is a black, tetragonal crystalline substance belonging to the spinel group; its ion structure is represented by Mn₂⁺(Mn³⁺)₂O₄, in which divalent and trivalent manganese ions occupy two distinct lattice sites. The oxygen ions form a cubic close-packed arrangement: the divalent manganese ions occupy tetrahedral sites, while the trivalent manganese ions occupy octahedral sites. Below 1443 K, manganese(IV) oxide adopts a deformed tetragonal spinel structure; above 1443 K, it exhibits a cubic spinel structure. At room temperature, manganese(IV) oxide is paramagnetic, but below 41–43 K it exhibits ferromagnetism. Manganese(IV) oxide occurs in nature as manganite and is the most stable oxide. Its relative density is 4.7, its melting point is 1567 °C, it is insoluble in water but soluble in hydrochloric acid. This product is prepared by the solvothermal method and does not contain any modifiers. Technical Parameter Appearance:Brown-black dispersion Application Fields Stability: Manganese(IV) oxide is relatively stable at room temperature and does not readily decompose, making it highly reliable when used as a catalyst in numerous chemical reactions. Catalytic performance: Manganese(IV) oxide can catalyze various hydrogenation reactions, such as the hydrogenation of styrene to phenylethane or the hydrogenation of propylene to propanol. Product Features Battery materials: Used as cathode materials in lithium-ion batteries to enhance their capacity and cycling performance; the unique structure and electrochemical properties of manganese tetraoxide contribute to improving the charging/discharging performance and stability of lithium-ion batteries. Electronic materials: Used in the fabrication of magnetic cores, magnetic recording materials, etc.; as magnetic core materials, they offer superior electromagnetic performance. Catalyst: Participates in catalytic processes involved in certain chemical reactions, such as hydrogenation reactions. Soft magnetic materials: Manganese tetraoxide is one of the key raw materials for manufacturing soft magnetic materials such as manganese-zinc ferrites; it is widely used in applications including computers, telephone transformers, and commercial inductors.
