Product Name

Name: Expandable Graphite

Product Overview

The expansion mechanism of expandable graphite is the presence of a large amount of expansion agent inside. At high temperatures, the expansion agent decomposes to produce gas, causing the graphite to expand in volume and form a pore structure.
Expandable graphite is a graphite interlayer compound formed from natural flake graphite after chemical treatment. During the preparation process, some molecules, atoms, ions, or particle clusters are inserted into the graphite layers under specific conditions, resulting in an increase in the distance between the graphite layers. When expandable graphite is subjected to high temperature, interlayer compounds will rapidly decompose and gasify, producing a large amount of gas. These gases form a thrust between the graphite layers, causing the graphite to expand along the axial direction, thereby forming worm like expanded graphite.

Application Fields

Expandable graphite has a wide range of applications, including:

Sealing material: can be used to make various sealing components, such as sealing gaskets, sealing strips, etc.
Fire retardant: can be used for fireproof coatings, fireproof boards, etc., effectively blocking the spread of flames and heat.
High energy battery materials: can be used as battery materials to convert the free energy changes of interlayer reactions into electrical energy.
Medical field: It has broad application prospects in biomedical materials.

Product Features

Expandable graphite is a graphite material obtained by special treatment of natural flake graphite. It has the following characteristics:
Expansibility: This product can rapidly expand and form a worm like substance when left at 950-980 degrees Celsius for about 20 seconds.
Chemical stability: It has good chemical stability and can resist the erosion of many chemical substances.
Thermal stability: able to maintain certain performance even at high temperatures.
