Product Overview

High purity aluminium oxide (Al2O3) has several crystalline forms, of which α-phase and γ-phase are the two main variants. γ-phase aluminium oxide belongs to the cubic crystal system and has a spinel structure. This structure consists of nano-sized particles with aluminium atoms irregularly arranged in octahedral and tetrahedral pores surrounded by oxygen atoms. γ-phase alumina is formed at low temperatures (within the range of 500~700°C), which has a uniform particle size distribution, high purity, a high specific surface, inertness against high temperatures, high activity, and is an active alumina, and is currently used most notably as a carrier for catalysts in the fields of Petrochemical industry, environmental protection and other fields.

Application Fields

 

Abrasion Resistant Agent and Coating: Used as rubber abrasion resistant agent and coating scratch resistant agent to improve the durability and protective properties of materials.

Catalyst and carrier: Due to its high surface activity and large specific surface area, it is often used as a catalyst or carrier for catalysts, such as hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions in petrochemical industry. For example, in automobile exhaust gas purification catalyst, γ-phase alumina can be loaded with precious metals such as platinum and palladium to improve catalytic efficiency. 

Adsorbent: It is used to adsorb impurities and harmful substances in gases and liquids, such as removing heavy metal ions in water treatment. It can effectively adsorb heavy metal ions such as copper and lead in wastewater.

Ceramic material additives: used as additives in ceramic manufacturing to improve the performance of ceramics. It can improve the moulding performance and sintering activity of ceramics.
