Expanded Graphite Powder (EGP) is a new type of functional carbon material obtained from natural graphite scales through chemical or physical intercalation, washing, drying, high temperature expansion and other processes. It presents a loose and porous worm-like form, but in order to facilitate the storage and transport, the product has been crushed by the crushing process, presenting a lamellar structure, which will be more convenient to use. The preparation methods of expanded graphite powder mainly include chemical intercalation method, electrochemical method, ultrasonic oxidation method, gas phase diffusion method and molten salt method. Among them, chemical intercalation method is one of the most commonly used methods, which is acidified by mixing graphite with concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid and other chemical reagents, and then produced expanded graphite powder after washing, drying and high-temperature expansion and other steps.
