Product Overview

 

Manganese trioxide is a black tetragonal crystal belonging to the spinel class, with an ionic structure of Mn2+(Mn3+) 2O4, in which divalent and trivalent manganese ions are distributed at two different lattice positions. Oxygen ions are tightly packed in cubic form, divalent manganese ions occupy tetrahedral voids, and trivalent manganese ions occupy octahedral voids. When the temperature is below 1443K, manganese trioxide transforms into a tetragonal spinel structure; Above 1443K is a cubic spinel structure. Manganese trioxide is paramagnetic at room temperature, but exhibits ferromagnetism below 41-43K. Manganese trioxide exists in the form of black manganese ore in nature and is the most stable oxide. Relative density 4.7, melting point 1567 ¡ãC insoluble in water, soluble in hydrochloric acid.

The preparation methods of manganese trioxide mainly include the following: high-temperature calcination method, wet catalytic oxidation, electrolysis method, and chemical precipitation method.
