Product Overview

Vanadium dioxide is a dark blue crystal powder with monoclinic crystal structure, which can be produced by ammonium vanadate or vanadium pentoxide (V2O5). VO2 Is an amphoteric compound, slightly soluble in water, equally soluble in acidic or alkaline solution, produce positive divalent vanadium oxygen ion (VO2+), appear light blue; when soluble in alkaline solution, produce vanadate M2V4O9 or M2V2O5. VO2 Is in a substable state, in which V4+ is easily oxidized to V5+, showing a relatively weak antioxidant capacity. VO2 Is a polycrystalline metal oxide with five major structures: VO2 (M), VO2 (R), VO2 (A), VO2 (B) and VO2 (C).

Application Fields

At high temperatures, Windows are metallic, blocking heat transmission; at low temperatures, Windows become transparent, allowing light to pass through. This intelligent window can automatically adjust the light transmittance according to the change of environmental temperature and improve the energy efficiency.

2)Photoelectric switchgear: Based on the phase change characteristics of vanadium dioxide nanoparticles, high-speed photoelectric switching can be prepared. By controlling the temperature, the switch between different phases is realized, so as to regulate the transmission of photoelectric signals. This photoelectric switch has important applications in information processing, data storage and other fields.

3)Sensors: Various sensors can be prepared using significant changes in electrical and optical properties of vanadium dioxide nanoparticles during phase transition. For example, conductivity changes for sensing of temperature, humidity and pressure, and optical sensing and spectral analysis.

4)Catalyst: nano-vanadium dioxide is widely used as a catalyst for various catalytic reactions because of its high catalytic activity and strong chemical ininertia.
