Due to their unique physical and chemical properties, precious metal nanoparticles, represented by platinum, gold, silver and palladium, have been widely studied by many scientists. Palladium is a precious metal belonging to the platinum group of elements, and its monomers are silver-white transition metals with soft texture, good ductility and plasticity. Palladium nanoparticles have shown excellent potential for applications in various fields due to their unique physical, chemical and electronic properties. The surface modification of palladium nanoparticles with PEI can significantly improve the dispersion, stability and biocompatibility of the nanoparticles and facilitate the coupling of other biomolecules or fluorescent molecules.

Catalytic performance: Palladium nanoparticles exhibit extremely high catalytic activity in petrochemicals, fine chemicals, organic synthesis and polymer modification materials, especially in hydrogenation and cross-coupling reactions.

Application Fields

Catalysts: Palladium nanoparticles are widely used as highly efficient catalysts in petrochemicals and fine chemicals, such as in the formation of carbon-carbon bonds in the Suzuki and Heck reactions.  

Fuel cells: In fuel cells, palladium nanoparticles are used as electrocatalysts to improve the efficiency of hydrogen oxidation. 

Hydrogen storage materials: Palladium nanoparticles are used as efficient hydrogen storage materials due to their high hydrogen storage capacity.

Biomedical applications: They have also been extensively studied in the fields of cancer therapy, targeted drug delivery, detection/diagnostics and bio-imaging
