Aluminum titanium carbide (Ti3AlC2) is a MAX phase ceramic material (M represents the transition metal element, A represents the main element, X represents carbon or nitrogen), composed of titanium, aluminum and carbon, has a hexagonal layered crystal structure. It combines the excellent properties of metals and ceramics, such as high electrical conductivity, high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, radiation corrosion resistance and so on. The microstructure of aluminum titanium carbide consists of alternating arrangement of titanium aluminum carbide (Ti3AlC2) and aluminum atomic layer.
