Product Name

Name: GCB Graphitized Carbon Black

Product Overview

Graphitic carbon black is a product obtained by subjecting carbon black to high-temperature treatment in vacuum or inert gas, causing its particles to have a quasi graphite microcrystalline structure tending towards an ordered arrangement of graphite crystals. Graphitic carbon black has a uniform graphitized surface, and its adsorption isotherm maintains a linear relationship within a higher surface concentration range. Graphitic carbon black has a strong adsorption capacity for pigments. As long as the sample can still be visually identified with pigments after being treated with graphitic carbon black, it can be determined that the recovery rate of pesticide residues in the sample will not be significantly affected. This is also the reason why graphitic carbon black is widely used in pesticide residue detection.

Compared with activated carbon, graphitized carbon black has fewer pores and a relatively smaller specific surface area, and its adsorption mode is single-molecule absorption; Activated carbon contains a large number of micropores, with a larger specific surface area and multiple molecular layers for absorption. Moreover, activated carbon exerts more types of forces on compounds than graphitized carbon black, with more active sites and strong adsorption properties. However, pesticides are difficult to wash away, and the laws of adsorption and elution of graphitized carbon black are relatively easy to grasp.

Product Features

High activity and high stability: Using traditional carbon black as raw material, graphitization treatment is carried out through high-temperature sintering. On the basis of retaining the high activity of carbon black material, the advantages of strong corrosion resistance of graphite material are combined.

High purity surface: The graphitization process gives it good adsorption and desorption (if necessary) properties, and its surface interactions depend only on dispersion force.

Hydrophobicity: It has a certain degree of hydrophobicity and can be used in high humidity environments.

Good chemical stability: Good chemical stability, corrosion resistance, and not easy to react with reagents such as acids and bases.

Application Fields

Gas chromatography analysis: can be used as an excellent gas chromatography adsorbent. Used for chromatographic separation and analysis in fields such as petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, environmental monitoring, biochemistry, and food testing.

Food testing: It is widely used in food testing, mainly for removing pigments such as chlorophyll, lutein, carotenoids, etc. from vegetables, fruits, and tea leaves.
