Product Name Name:Nanocor inorganic montmorillonite Product Overview NANOCOR sodium montmorillonite is a high purity (>98%) layered silicate ore, also known as silicate. They can be used as additives for hydrophilic polymers, or organically modified for various organic compounds, with sheet or layered structures, and their components are the same as the specific gravity of montmorillonite components, such as calcite, dolomite, orthoclase and quartz. Colors appear in different shades of gray. The color of montmorillonite depends on the ions replaced in the lattice structure, such as titanium and manganese, and also depends on the replaced cation. This is due to the fact that these metal ions occupy the middle of the structure and are difficult to remove mechanically. Specific surface area of sodium montmorillonite: 700-750 m2/g (all dispersed); 15-20 m2/g (undispersed). The layer spacing is about 1.2-1.4nm. Layered structure: Montmorillonite has a unique sheet or layered structure, which provides it with a large specific surface area and adsorption capacity, which is conducive to its role in various composite materials. Nanometer size: Although the length and width of montmorillonite can reach hundreds of nanometers, its thickness is only 1 nanometer, and this extremely thin lamellae structure allows it to form an effective nanoscale dispersion in the polymer matrix, which significantly improves the performance of the material. High aspect ratio: After purification, most of the lamellae of montmorillonite are in the range of 200-400. This high aspect ratio allows it to form an effective reinforcement network in the polymer, improving the mechanical strength and toughness of the material. Application Fields Hydrophilic polymer additives: Due to its good hydrophilic and layered structure, unmodified sodium montmorillonite can be directly used as an additive in hydrophilic polymers, such as water-based coatings, adhesives, etc., to improve the stability, rheology and mechanical properties of these materials. Application of organic modification: Through organic modification, the surface properties of sodium montmorillonite change, so that it can be better compatible with various organic compounds. The modified montmorillonite can be widely used in plastics, rubber, coatings, inks, cosmetics and other fields, as a thickener, stabilizer, filler or enhancer to significantly improve the performance and quality of the product. Nano-composite materials: Using montmorillonite's high aspect ratio and nano-size effect, it can be combined with polymers, metals or ceramics and other materials to prepare nano-composite materials with excellent properties. These materials have wide application prospects in aerospace, automobile manufacturing, electronic information and other fields.
